Digitally Influenced Oil Paintings by Jens Hesse

As strange as it may sound, Jens Hesse mixes the traditional  world of oil painting with digital noise, or distortions. Each of Hesse’s works is influenced by digital distorted satellite signals, datamoshed videos, interlace effects, anaglyph images or scraped works. These techniques give the paintings a feeling that is dreamlike.  Plus, his self-portrait reminds me of Chuck Close which is pretty freaking cool.
