Thumbtack Press looks like a great marketplace for artists to sell their work. Artists submit their work and if it…
“…is deemed ‘Thumbtack’ worthy we will be requesting a print-ready file from you, click here to see acceptable specs. From here we post your work on the monthly tackboard of new art and make it available for sale. If your work sells, we print, package, and ship to the patron and send you a generous cut.”
Sounds cool and the artist receives 50% of the purchase price. Sounds like a pretty good deal with little risk and a decent reward. Anyway, I thought this might be a good resource for our artists.
For those who don’t know, Hugh MacLeod is known for his doodles and comics on the backs of business cards. The image above is part of his post “How to be Creative” where he gives some sound advice to those of us who continue to push in our creative journeys.

LOADED ART! is a product of creative expression through awareness for social change. Established soon after the 2004 presidential elections LOADED ART! is art for change not for profit. Backed by punk ideals and fueled by the lack of activism that exists among the art scene as a whole LOADED ART! is an on-going body of political/social mixed media wall sculptures that reflect our current events. For the past 4 years the focus has been heavily political due to the U.S.’s current world position. Conceptual protests carried out by an unique means of creative expression to reach a diverse group of people. – Bricolage – 48″x48″x5″
