I don’t know much about Gehard Demetz, but his sculptures are phenomenal. These wood sculptures are masterfully cut and Demetz allows voids in the wood to add to the pain reflected by his characters.

Invader is a street artist/sculptor, creating pieces that reflect the influence of technology on our society over the past 30 years or so.

For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated with art, technology and engineering. The creativity and critical thinking involved in each of these areas is gets me fired up and ready to build something – especially if it involves fire :-). With that in mind, you might understand why I chose to feature artist Johannes Vogl. Vogl’s work is quirk, inventive and certainly worth taking a peek at.
Cal Lane is a sculptor currently focused on creating intricate, delicate looking pieces from found industrial objects. Lane’s sculptures transform shovels, wheelbarrows, oil cans, oil drums, and other steel objects into complex, lace like, compositions.
With the year drawing to a close we naturally reflect on the past year. 2009 has been kind to this little blog and I look forward to what 2010 may bring. Jeremiah Jenkin’s is a sculptor born in Tennessee, USA and currently based in San Francisco. His most recent works are commentaries on recent American culture, specifically war and finance.

Kevin Van Aelst is a New England artist creating some extraordinary works from very ordinary objects. I have included a few of his works here, but you should visit his website to see more of his work.
The world’s largest outdoor sculpture exhibit is up and photos are finding their way to Flickr. If you are in or around Sydney, this looks like it is worth checking out. The show is up until November 15 and features over 100 sculptures that span about 2 km.
